How the THI Team Decks Their Halls

When the holidays arrive, the Two Hands Interiors team decks their halls in some of the same ways they approach the design of their clients’ homes and businesses – with layers, intentionality and story – but that looks a little different from designer to designer.

Here are a few ideas from Bryn, Karen and Rachel that may inspire you:

Use blue and collect a Christmas village - Rachel likes to decorate with Christmas plaid and blue for a twist on the usual colors.

Rachel also brings out her Christmas village, which she has collected over the years, and her son sets up.

Weave decorations around your plants - If you’ve been around for any amount of time, you’ll know that Karen is our resident green thumb.

During the holidays, Karen fits her Christmas decorations in and around her plants since they are already situated in places where they are content, (which is no easy feat during the gray, drafty days of winter in Chicagoland).

Give your trees themes - Bryn has multiple Christmas trees that grace her home, and each has a theme for a cohesive look. In her den, she has a woodland creatures’ tree.

Her main tree features her extensive collection of Shiny Brite ornaments that she has amassed over the years. The horse ornament came from a trip to Lexington, Kentucky when Bryn’s family went on a trip with mine.

In her dining room, Bryn has a tree devoted to her family heritage, including ornaments that were her grandparents and also ornaments from her Scandinavian heritage.
