NEW CONSTRUCTION IN CHICAGO SUBURBS
Project
A family moved from Chicago to the western suburbs in search of some more space and a yard for their growing family to enjoy. They found a corner lot that required a new build with the goal of creating a home that combined comfort, practicality and style to support busy family life.
Inspiration
A mix of modern and traditional, this home is a great example of transitional style – and in more ways than one. The spaces in this home were designed with flexibility in mind, to accommodate kids as they grow and the tastes of their parents. There is a color-saturated basement media room with pops of caramel color, perfect for family movie nights, gaming and hang outs.
There are gorgeous pocket doors to the formal dining room, which don’t take up floor space with a swing, and separate the living room/playroom. A lovely powder room features elegant wallpaper and paneling to keep things protected and easy to clean. The large window-lined kitchen was designed with traffic flow in mind.
Client
We enjoyed working with this lovely young family on creating a home to support their growing family over the years.
